Nordic Head of Casualty UW

Business Management

  • Leadership of the Nordic UW Casualty team, the development of business strategies (within our EMEA General Insurance parameters) as well as the annual financial targets
  • Monitoring and managing multiple distribution channels, partnerships and brokers
  • Ensuring successful execution of product development, underwriting
  • Measuring and reporting on operational issues, opportunities and development plans against company objectives
  • Driving continuous operational improvement projects

External Relationship Management

  • Representing AIG to major clients and brokers across Nordics
  • Expand and enhance the AIG Casualty brand
  • Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships across the 4-5 countries

People Management

  • Lead and manage the Nordic casualty team
  • Communicating the AIG vision, mission, and overall General Insurance direction
  • Serve as a member of the Nordics Senior Leadership Team

Leadership Skills:

  • A UW track record of financial and operational success in casualty having delivered profitable growth in the destined region
  • A “natural” with clients who can represent AIG effectively and support the introduction, establishment and growth of valuable client relationships across Nordic market
  • Experienced people leader; a relationship developer and team builder; a strong focus on talent and leadership development; someone who attracts and develops high-caliber talent and who builds diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Highly collaborative approach across functions and countries.
  • Ability to manage and influence in a matrix structure and across a wide geography

Technical Skills and Expertise:

  • Significant Casualty industry experience, stature, and credibility in one or more product lines
  • Several years’ experience in people management
  • A leader who develops a bold vision and distinct strategies that result in competitive advantage
  • Very good communication & interpersonal skills – fluency in written and spoken English as well as any Scandinavian language
